“Dance Memoir” will continue beyond the festival, to stage street performances around sites in NYC of past NYC dance clubs. I am pleased to announce that Franklin Furnace Archive Inc. will by my fiscal sponsor for the duration of this series.
Funds towards “Dance Memoir” include three options:
(1) A thank you card for a $25.00 contribution printed and designed by the artist. You may email me at
el****************@ma*.com
if you are interested.
(2) The self-portrait is a multi-layered composite image I had produced to publicly announce “Dance Memoir”, was included with a selection of unique screen prints in an exhibition with Westbeth Gallery, as part of my participation with Art In Odd Places in 2018. As of this year, I will publish this image into an edition of ten archival ink jet prints. The pre-publication price is $500.00 each. You may email me at
el****************@ma*.com
if you are interested in making a purchase.
Unlike the persona portraits I produced for “The Nested Selves”, this piece was constructed with watercolors and calligraphic dancing figure ink drawings as image filters, layered in between photo portraits taken of me to convey two moments in relation to dance and musical genres from the 1980’s and early 1990’s. Our personal devices have isolated us from the more communal and celebratory dance environments dance clubs provided to a diverse public in NYC.
(3) If you want to submit a donation of your choice amount (for amounts over $25.00, I will send you a thank you card): Franklin Furnace Archive, Inc., a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, is serving as fiscal sponsor of this work. To make a tax-deductible contribution to my project please make checks out to “Franklin Furnace Archive, Inc.”; earmark them ‘for the Elaine Angelopoulos project”; and mail them to:
